Wander & Wonder
I wander about this land,
Lost and aimless,
Glancing at my hand,
Weak with silence
How long I linger,
Staring across the plain,
Wind a howling singer,
Pushing me to wane
I wonder how this could be,
A life so crushed,
Straining to pull free,
An existence once hushed
Gleaming in the distance,
Light beyond reach,
Further I persist in constance,
New life I beseech
Wandering further into the dust,
Moving amongst the street,
Fighting against the surrounding rust,
Clambering from baking heat
Where do I turn in this waste,
Options dying,
How can I increase my haste,
Shadows lying
Wondering if I will survive,
Body broken by elements,
Seeking solace from the hive,
Mind shaken from battlements
Lone do I search the edge,
Not a soul in sight,
Lost as the only dredge,
Running with all my might
Mind wandered from the path,
Horrid deeds not speaking,
A dream I no longer hath,
Weighted grief mine for keeping
Madness gripping tight,
Whether I run or stay,
Delirium I must fight,
Lest sanity give way
I wondered how far I could go,
Before the dream shattered,
Pain deep, waking to grow,
Leaving me sullen, tattered
I fall into the sands,
Sinking beneath my weight,
Welcoming deaths hands,
Succumbing to my fate
I wander about this land,
Lost and aimless,
Glancing at my hand,
Weak with silence
How long I linger,
Staring across the plain,
Wind a howling singer,
Pushing me to wane
I wonder how this could be,
A life so crushed,
Straining to pull free,
An existence once hushed
