This album is a gift in two ways: One, it is one of those four song gems that are so few and far yet powerful and enchanting. Other examples would be WIITR's Black Cascade, Gwynbleidd's Amaranthine, Sadhaka's Terma, and Aquilus' Arbor. Second, this was actually a gift. I was unaware of its existence until the creator sent word of its lost lyrics, or rather whispered, only spoken in certain circles. The now Gaoth told of how this creation was a predecessor of the current project, not wholly pleased and early in the understandings of recording and music making. This whole discovery has meant much to me. Firstly, that it is an astounding piece of work, towering on its own in comparison to the newer Gaoth. Secondly, I understand the pains and pressure that comes from individual work. I may be adept at writing however the fears and failures can deter me, slow me, make me question if what I am doing is "right" or "good." So, though the songwriter themselves may not look upon Draiocht as a success, I surely do. And I take that away for myself as well, that no matter how awful I may think a story or poem is, it may be just what someone needed, a piece in the puzzle of life that they needed, were missing. So, I too shall pour myself back into my work, regardless of how much disdain or motivation I manifest. Without further detraction or details, Samhain's End.
