We return this week with Skagos again, as I myself return home. It feels only natural that I should choose such a wild and earth driven band for this weeks showcase as I find my way home again from a remote stint. I appreciate listening to this album more having just dwelled amongst the trees and animals, alone under the star strewn sky, the quiet of the house surrounded by the untamed land. I can feel in this album that same energy, that unique call and allure the forests and mountains have, the draw of a distant mountain and the serenity of lakes and rivers. It is power, force, yet all balanced within itself, raging, however calm as well. It is deliberate although seeming chaotic, and in this is a depth of beauty, one that enthralls and haunts those that dare to look upon it and wonder. Let this week be one of reflection and reality, the weight of yourself and the world, how it all fits even though all seems random, unbound. As the title suggests such cyclical balance "A Night That Ends, As All Night End, When The Sun Rises," as do we have a pattern to complete, a place in this world, whether known or not. We, who built ourselves to paradigm. We, who wore a colossal weight with pride. In a niche of faunus extravagance we ruled a tundra of malice. Providence trades hands with exigence as the wolves chase us in to the thicket. Oh, the weight of it!
