At the top of the dark spire, which reached up towards the night above, stabbing so high into the sky that it seemed to almost pierce the veil. Carrying a dusty tome, a cloaked figure crept toward and altar that faced the sky. Laying the large book upon, the figure waited , gazing toward the distant horizon before his yellow, glowing eyes crept upwards. Unlocking the book with a twisted key, the Mad Barron unleashed the cosmic beast that lay within, howling as it echoed and tremored into the manifesting clouds above. Swirling amongst the thundering blankets, the creature gained it's strength, it's haunting gaze peering down at the cackling mad man. The thing sneered and then bolted into the stars above, leaving in it's wake a radiant destruction.
Welcome back, my fiends. Though there has been a few star obsessed artists to grace these halls, few have paired it with Black Metal. Melodic Death Metal and Progressive Technical, sure yet this beast is quite pleasing... and most awe inspiring.
Siderean brings upon us something from the edge of space, Lost On Void's Horizon. I know this album shall offer something new, a dark star birthed from cosmic chaos.
1.)Eolith - A strong, hooking intro that carries into a tune over nine minutes long! A grand mixture of guitar and drum work with vocals that command a listen when they arise.
2.)Traversing - The only instrumental track however a welcome one. It helps set the feel, the ambience, as well as give you just enough of a break like the sun when it finally emerges from behind the planets.
3.)Lost on Void's Horizon - The title track and yet another strong intro (as it should be for this piece) and another nine minute track. Siderean really gives quality and quantity in their albums. The transition and interlude from 5:14 to 6:58 is captivating and once again reminds you that this is a celestial journey... then kicks back in gear until the end!
4.)Sidereal Evolution - The guitar work and prowess thrown together really makes this a memorable track.
5.)Coalescing Into The Expanse - ANOTHER awesome intro that plays into what may be my favorite track on the album. The pacing, vocals, and instrument work really flows even while changing and it always pulls me back like the gravitation of an imploding star: brilliant, heavy and crushing.
6.)Abyssophora - I don't know why but this last track really caught me off guard. Not only is it strong and captivating yet somehow the track name did not present that, making it all the sweeter and the best track to end on.
So, as we reach for the stars and the heavens, into the black abyss and turbulent unknown hiding in the shadows of moons, let Siderean carry you onward, guiding the way or helping those... Lost On Void's Horizon. \,,/
