Something stirs in Germany, some thing unholy. This Metal Monday belongs to the Cult of Salem. A melodic voice to lull you in all so the dark, growling thing beyond can bellow upon you. Cult of Salem is quite different, a mixture of heavy, death metal vocals hidden by a doomed, operatic voice beckoning you to listen. Throw in some Lovecraftian thematics and what arises is an artist that offers mind shaking music. Unhallowed Rites is an album full of delicious treats. Epic and horrific, these tracks churn and crush with blackened danger, crawling with things just behind the scenes waiting to creep in and shake your world. The showcase for this week will be I Saw The Devil (No, not the movie but just as dark and dangerous) which opens thunderous and ominous slowing down just enough to catch you off guard with a monstrous return. However, the piece below will be Anthem to an Outer God, the first track that hooked me and one that is worthy of showcase (Shub Niggurath demands it so). Do check out the other tracks as well to grasp the full prowess of this stellar artist. This week is going to be a wicked one, wretched things stir just behind the scenery and they wait for us all to drop our guard. Keep your eyes on the shadows... lest they replace you. /,,/ https://cultofsalem.bandcamp.com/album/unhallowed-rites
